YouTrack 2023.1.9286 - JAR version

Hi,

Any reason why there's no JAR version for YouTrack 2023.1.*?

Can you publish that as well?

Thanks!

Hello,

We have discontinued the JAR distribution in the 2023.1 release. So if you need to upgrade - please use MSI, Docker, or ZIP distributions.

Please let us know if you prefer the JAR distribution for any particular reasons. Your feedback would help us a lot.

Yes, sure. Please refer to this documentation section. In short: you need to make a database backup, configure directories for Docker, copy the backup to the backups directory, and start Docker. Select the backup in the upgrade wizard, and that's it.

Hi Francisco Castro

Thank you for your feedback, noted!

For small teams, you really could not beat the simplicity

Well, the ultimately simple way is to use a Cloud instance for small teams :)

Hi,

We have always used the JAR distributions. So, we'd prefer to go that route.

Is there a JAR to Docker migration guide?

Thanks!

Hi Alisa Kasyanova, I was also a fan of the jar distribution. For small teams, you really could not beat the simplicity. No need to dwell with Docker, DB's, etc... it was just `java -cp youtrack.jar` done! I sure would like it back! :)
