How to move YouTrack from one server to another, including all project, users and issues? Follow
We spun up a new Windows server (2016), and want to move our entire YouTrack system over to the new server. I tried copying the data files, but that just causes the new installation to crash and the service to stop.
The description for Event ID 404 from source youtrack (see below) cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
===============================================================
youtrack JetBrains JetService v1.1.730.777
C:\YouTrack\launcher\bin\JetService.exe
Service process exited without service stop request
===============================================================
Can anyone provide the steps needed to make this work properly? Both servers are running the latest version of YouTrack.
Thanks,
Mike

I'd recommend the following approach:
1. Uninstall YouTrack from a new server completely
2. On an old server initiate a database backup
3. Copy backup archive to a new server
4. Install YouTrack on a new server afresh. During installation choose "Upgrade" path and point to the backup archive
This worked PERFECTLY. Thank you Evgeny!!!! You guys are the BEST, and I recommend you to every software professional I meet.
