Make unresolved features more prominent
Hello,
We are using Youtrack since two months, and we are really satisfied! But we have also an issue we cannot imaging other people don't have.
For our (software development)products, most of the times the Unresolved issues are most important. But now we have to type manually "#unresolved" or create for every project a Saved Search to the unresolved projects. Isn't there a better solutions for that? For example a simple button which removes all resolved issues from the current list? Or even better; by default only show open issues and make a button to show the resolved issues. Like you do with Google Reader?

You can create saved search "#Unresolved" or "#Open project: A project: B" and set it as context. Does is cover you needs?
Two examples:
1. A developer
In a normal situation, I'm working on 1 project at a time, but I've access to around 20 projects. 99% of the situations I would like to go to a project, and then see all open issues. Now I've to:
2: a reporter
In a typical situation a reporter is from another company (a customer) and has access to 1 project. Now I've to create for each user a context or search which filters on all open projects. That means a customer always have to do an extra click, or store it in their favourits.
I know, it sounds marginal. But it annoys me, and my customers on a near daily basis. The solution is really simple: create a "show only unfixed issues"-checkbox which state is remembered and not part of the URL. (at least for a user)
Kind regards,
Steven
Any time you can type "#Unresolved" or "#Open" to filter issues within context (project in this case)
If you prefer mouse please use sidebar filters. Please clarify why "filters which are really difficult to access"?
What do you mean 'open projects'? 1 project customer has access to will be available in context dropdown. The customer will be able to filter open issues by typing "#Open" or by click in sidebar filters as well.
Sorry; I made a spell-error. When I said "open projects" I ment "open tickets".
I created the feature request https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-16890, please feel to vote/comment it.
In case there was, say, sort of a toggle button to show/hide resolved issues and the button's location would be somewhere near the search field, would this be suitable?
You can't use the filters to show only unresolved issues except by expanding the State filter and selecting all of the unresolved states.
This is cumbersome.
And I agree that my users aren't all savy enough to enter #unresolved in the search bar.
So perhaps adding another filter called Resolved with only 2 options (Resolved, Unresolved) would do the trick.
