Does YouTrack support mySQL server backend?

TeamCity supports (and suggests) using mySQL as storage for all of the build data, this speeds everything up immensely, and doesn't pose diskspace/memory issues on the server machine itself.

I can't find any options to do the same with YouTrack, I've spotted a section on this page to suggest it's not possible, and that I will need to edit JVM server options "as my database grows", which doesn't sound very user friendly.

Hello Jim,

Sorry for the delay with the reply.

Unfortunately, YouTrack doesn't support MySQL, we have our own db with its specific architecture. Could you please let us know the reasons of why  would you like to use MySQL as a server backend?

Don't hesitate to contact us, we'll be happy to help.

Hi Andrey,

We're interested in ways to interface with the data to allow for visual interface with the issue data, as well as providing extensability.

Hi Jim,

In general you can use our REST API ( http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/YTD4/YouTrack+REST+API+Reference ).
Unfortunately, for the very low-level usage we have no interface, that can be provided to users.

What would you like to do with the data? Please clarify, if it's possible.

Apologies for the slow reply.

We've been working with the REST API for a lot of the visual extensions and interfacing with the YouTrack data. Overall, we're happy with that, and will raise issues with anything missing from REST if we need something.

Thanks,
