How to add notes to release notes

When we do a release we like to include a code diff link on our release notes.

Other than being able to change the title of the release notes, I can't find  a way to add general notes?

for the moment, I've raided meta issues with the code diff, but seems a bit weird.

any ideas how I can add notes?
