Recovering YouTrack from disk image?

We had our server go down and it had to be reinstalled from scratch. We have a backup of the drive, but have had trouble getting the data out of it. The import python script is for two running servers so it doesn't work here.

Is there a process to recover this data? Potentially something where we just copy over the contents of the YouTrack folder and its appdata folder?

Hello Scott, you can transfer the folder with the database to the new location and then start your new instance with this database. Which YouTrack distribution are you using?

If it's MSI: the database is located by default at %programdata%\JetBrains\YouTrack\data
If it's ZIP: the database is located in the <youtrack_home>/data directory
If it's JAR: the database is located in the <User Home>/teamsysdata

Will we need the exact same version of YouTrack? Will the same major version be enough for this to work?

Scott, the version of the backup file should be the same or older than the version of YouTrack to which you restore this database.
