cannot connect from intellij
Hi List,
is it possible to connect to youtrack server (free) at localhost:8080
from intellij?
When i configure the server under task in settings dialogue and press
test it shows up "Successfully connected...". But as i press apply or
done, i'll get a "Can't connect to localhost:8080"-Message.
What am i doing wrong?

Hi Tilman,
first check if 'REST API' is enabled on your local Youtrack installation - http://localhost:8080/settings
Alos, please specify versions of Youtrack and Intellij IDEA.

Hi Dmitry,
thank you for your reply.
Yes, Rest API is enabled.
I use youtrack 3.0.1 and IntelliJ 10.5.1

HI Tilman,
do you have only one Youtrack server at Task section? Check if all them have correct settings, so each 'Test' is successfull.
Also, do you specific proxy settings?

Hi Dmitry,
i configured only one youtrack server (localhost:8080). Youtrack is
running as a standalone application and no proxy settings are
configured. Test is always successful. What is interesting is that it
seems to be indifferent which port i set (eg. localhost:8080 and
localhost:7070 are both successfully tested.) If i ommit the port i get
an error. Is this correct?

Hi Tilman,
do you mean Tests for both ports 7070 and 8080 are successfull for the same youtrack run or for two different runs? If single run, what port did you specify? Tests pass for any port, ex. 7575?
When I start local Youtrack on port 8080 Test is successfull and no message appeared.
Do you have firewall running?

Hi Dmitry,
yes tests for both ports are successful for same youtrack run
(localhost:7575 too). Even if i specify an url of "localhost:" where the
port number is missing, i get a successful test. Only when i omit the
port complete that means no colon and no number, then the test fails.
No, i have no firewall running.
I am running idea and youtrack on MaxOS 10.5.

I can even set a server url of "a:" to get a succesfull test.

It seems this issue better relates to IDEA topic. Isn't it?
I'll connect to IDEA team to handle it.
