Permission system.

Hi there,

I'm new to Youtrack, so please excuse me if this is something I've missed.

The permissions system appears to be quite complete, but I was wondering if it's possible to prevent users within a project from viewing tickets submitted by other users? (e.g. assume Project 1 and the users are in different groups to make separation easier - i.e. only allow users from Group A to see/modify tickets created by Group A users).

This would be similar to JIRA's issue security, I believe.

Many thanks in advance,

David.

Hi David,

create new role with desirable persmissions(say, 'read issues', 'update issues') or use default 'Observer' or 'Developer'. Call this role MyRole.

First way is to create 2 different projects and assign to Group A role MyRole in project A and assign to Group B role MyRole in project B. Now users from Group A will able to only look at issues from project A, users from Group B - in project B.

Second way is to assign MyRole for both groups in single project. Now all users from both groups will read issues in project. To prohibit members of one group to see/modify issues from other group each such issue should be close manually on frontend by this group member (every issue has visibility issue group popup).
