Is it possible to force user to fill a field, like "Affected versions" ?

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to force issue reporter to fill a specific field, like "Affected versions" one? Unchecking "Can be empty" in its settings requires to fill in a default value (1.png attached) but I would like instead to force user to do so.

Hello Evgeny,

Yes, it's possible. You can use custom workflow for this. In Youtrack we have the default workflow 'jetbrains-youtrack-mandatoryField', so you can create your own rules based on it.

You can refer to its detailed description in our doc: http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/YTD3/Make+an+Issue+Field+Mandatory

To make 'Affected versions' field mandatory, the simple rule would look like this:

rule Don't allow to submit issue without 'Affected versions' set when <issue created or updated> {   Affected versions.required("You must set the Affected versions field!"); }

Changed it to the one in the screenshot attached. Workflow editor didn't allow me to copy-paste the text.
