Bulk editing of issues using workflows

We just imported a bunch of issues (about 30,000) from a previous tracking system into YouTrack. There are several problems with the imported issues that I want to clean up. To make it easier, I've created workflow actions that run the fixes on an issue.

To run the workflows on all the issues, I go to the issues view, create a query for all the imported issues (they all have a certain tag), select them all, then use the command dialog to run the action on all the issues (silently). My problem is that running a workflow on all 30,000 issues seems to timeout after a minute or two.

Is there a better way to do this type of bulk editing? Am I just not patient and I need to wait for an hour for it to be finished?

Note that the scripts are doing things that can not be done through normal bulk editing (e.g. Cleaning up the contents of comments made by users).

Hello,

Unfortunately this is not possible in the setup that you are describing.

That's too bad. Thanks for the quick response.

My workaround so far is to create a scheduled task that runs the "script" periodically until all the tasks have been fixed. I guess I'll just stick with what I have, for now.

I'll create a feature request for this since I seem to be doing it a lot (even though it's probably of limited use to most teams).
