REST API or Swagger-generated client?

In the past I used https://github.com/JetBrains/youtrack-rest-python-library

Now since 2020.1 there is a Swagger API definition file and it is suggested to use that to generate a client.

Hmm.

I like the advantages of a nice human-written API  but I also like the completeness of a generated client.

How move forward? Wouldn't it make sense to provide a shared generated client? Does anybody have a good or bad experience with using a generated client? Does anybody want to write a blog post about it?

We have such plans, please watch our announcements in the newsletters.

Which library/language do you want to generate the client for? If you face any issues with the spec, please feel free to create an issue here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/JT
