How to move a ticket from helpdesk to another project

I'm considering to start using the Helpdesk feature as a main contact point for my customers, but most of my customers have their own project in Youtrack already. They can see items and comment on them; but the interface is too complicated for them to use; so the result is they keep calling, emailing and whatsapp-ing.

Having said that; I can't move helpdesk tickets to another project. In an ideal world, I have one submission form and email address to collect items in the helpdesk. If a ticket comes in, I check it and move it to the correct project.

But the reality is the Project list is empty on helpdesk tickets. Is this disabled for helpdesk? Can I enable it again?

Hi! Right now, you can only move tickets between helpdesk projects. We plan to introduce an option to create a ticket copy as an issue in a regular project: JT-75672. Please subscribe to this public request by voting or marking it with a star to receive updates.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think this will work for us, but I understand your considerations. I foresee customers getting confused with this, so this rules out the Helpdesk feature for me.

I'll keep an eye on the ticket though.
