Full text search doesn't search fields?

Searching for text only seems to search the title, summary, and

comments.  It doesn't search over custom fields of type string?

We have a customer issue number field, of type string.  When we go

looking for a youtrack issue with the customer ID, we often don't know

the exact format of the customer issue ID as it was entered in the

youtrack issue.  We know the number part of it, but we don't know if

it had dashes in it, or a # sign in front, or some other prefix, etc.

I was hoping full text search would mean I wouldn't have to know the

exact value of the field to search by it.

For example, our customer IDs might look like:

#534241.1

DR 534241.1

534241.1

DR 534241-1

DR #534241-1

etc.

and different customers have completely different formats for their

issue ids...so even enforcing a string format would be difficult.  We

were counting on the fuzzy keyword searching to allow us search this

field effectively.
