importing from redmine / versions and time entries

We are evaluating YouTrack right now. I tried to import our issues from redmine.

So far there are only two things that did not work as expected:
  • versions were not imported. Issues assigned to versions aborted because the value was not known. After creating versions manually those issues were imported without error.
  • time logs were imported with the wrong user. Every log is owned by the account used to import them. There is no way to know who really spent this time.

Any ideas how to solve these problems?

Hello Piero,

We've checked your use-case and resume that versions can be imported well. Please, provide us with the logs, we'll investigate them.

Regarding your second point, that's not an issue- that is by design: time trackind data imports under admin user of account that is used to import this data. But, after several similar requests we've decided to add a REST method for importing work items on behalf of other users (http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-19198) , you are welcome to leave comments.

Thank you,
Waiting for details from you regarding first point (you can attach logs here or send them to us via

Hello Andrey,

thanks for looking at my issues.
I've sent the relevant error output of the import script to youtrack-incloud-support@jetbrains.com
