Howto create a Kanban board showing issues for all or multiple versions Follow
I want to use the kanban board for showing issues for multiple versions or even all versions.
We have sometimes several simultanious patches in development, and i want to get an overview of the progress, regardless of the version.
Is this possible with the current youtrack version(5.2.3)?

As Kanban initially has no Fix Versions/Sprints, in YouTrack you may work in 'Unscheduled' context on your board. Please, refer to http://www.jetbrains.com/youtrack/documentation/agile_project_management.jsp , 'Kanban support in YouTrack video' .
Yea, i've already seen this video, and also read http://blog.jetbrains.com/youtrack/2014/04/cross-project-agile-boards-in-youtrack-the-best-recipes/ which mentions the 'Unscheduled' version.
My problem is, i don't see this Unscheduled version.
I only see all regular versions and the 'no fix versions'.
What do i have to do in order to get the 'Unscheduled' version?
'Unscheduled' is an Empty Value set for the Fix version custom field.
If you have 'No fix versions' as an Empty Value, that's ok, you may set any value.
You may check this under Administration> Projects> target project> Fields tab> click Fix versions.
My problem with this is that then only issues with 'No fix version' set will be shown on the board.
But i like to show all issues independent of the value they have set in the version. I want to mix issues with and without version.
That's actually not Kanban, taking into account some of your issues are marked with particular Fix versions. Fix version equals Sprint on Agile board. So, working on multiple Sprints is impossible.
Why do you use Fix versions if you wish to work on Kanban?
Thank you.
Besides this, we are working on different versions and patches simultaneously, and therfore need an instrument to keep an overview.
I do manage a off-shore team which works on different projects, each with some general version planning.
I then assign issues to developer, and what is missing is the order in which those issues need to be implemented.
The order is not always the same as priority. Sometimes a very small minor issue should be implemented before a big major issue.
I would be totally fine with using the agile board without any version restriction. This would solve my problem.
edit: I am aware that this is not scrum, and i'm ok with it. This issue is not related to scrum in any way, and therefore has no need for sprints at all.
And since Jetbrains does not understand the difference between kanban and scrum, it seems this will not change.
