Deleting a user results results with successor doesn't update issues
Hi,
I deleted a user who created some issues. I supplied an existing user as successor with the hope that all issues are updated,
Unfortunately, the issues reported by the deleted user are now "reported by *deleted user*". I can't query these issues because *deleted user* is not a valid query value.
Creating a report "state by reported" results in an error because of the *deleted user*.
How can I repair the data?
Thanks!

Hello Jan, thank you for your request.
In your case the merge procedure would suit you better actually, as deletion and merge have different mechanisms.
As for the issues with search and reports, I've created an issue in our tracker: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-38855 Please subscribe to it to be notified of the updates.
Do you use an incloud or a standalone instance? If it's cloud, please tell us the name of the instance and the time when you deleted the user. If it's standalone, please tell us if you have backups. Thank you.
Hi,
it's a standalone installation. I have a backup from the day before I deleted the user.
Hello Jan,
at the moment the only option to get correct search results is to roll back up to a backup and then merge users instead of deleting. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you need assistance or if you have further questions.
Would it be sufficient to delete the issues which were reported by this user? Fortunately, these are only a few.
Hello Jan,
we don't recommend to delete issues usually, but in your case it should help to create a report without getting an error.
However, it might be difficult to find those issues since you can't search for them. The only way to find them is to do it somehow manually.
Please let us know if you need assistance or if you have further questions.
I found a nice way to find these issues:
reported by: -{Registered Users}
But is deleting the issues enough (opening the issue and execute the "delete issue" command)?
Jan, we've just tested this case, it should help, yes.
