How to restore a database backup

I need to restore a database backup that I made through the web interface. I have a tar file but don't know what to do with it. Help!

The reason I need to restore is because I have migrated some issues from one project to multiple other projects and need to find what their original IDs were for cross referencing purposes.

1. To restore database extract this tar file to database folder. By default this folder is "teamsysdata" and lives in you user home folder.

2. Note, when you move issue from one project to another by command (e.g. "project MyProject") issue id trace is saved, so you can access issue in new project by its old URL.

I can extract the tar.gz file to a tar file but I can't extract it any further. 7-Zip claims "it is not an archive"

I have copied the tar file to the teamsysdata folder just in case YouTrack extracts it but sadly it didn't :-(

I do it like you do on my Windows Vista and It's ok. I easily unpack it with unzip or unrar to *.tar file and than unpack it again. Maybe archive is broken or something?

The backup must be corrupt. I've tried opening it with a variety of archive tools and they all fail.

Will resort to the nightly server backup instead
