Why are attachments are lost with youtrack email integration?
when a user replies to a YT issue via email, the text in the email is captured as a comment in the appropriate email item - good. However, email attachments are lost.
Is there any mechanism to overcome this limitation?

I assume that you are a YouTrack Stand-alone user. Could you please send us your YouTrack log files? You can attach them here or send them to youtrack-feedback@jetbrains.com . YouTrack logs are located in the <USER_HOME>/.youtrack/logs directory.
In case you are YouTrack InCloud user, please provide us with your server URL name, we'll review logs of your instance.
