Import History

Hi

I'm working on moving all of my issues from Excel to YouTrack, and would like to import (or manually input) each issue's state change history, so that I can see this in YouTrack's CFD.

Is this possible? I can see that it might be possible through the REST API, or the CSV import, but I don't know which fields I need to map to achieve this.

I'd be really grateful for any help - many thanks.

Hello Mike,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to import history to YouTrack.
Currently, we have the GET History method to get history from YouTrack (or whatever other tracker, which has REST API), but have no SET method to set this data to YouTrack.
I would like to suggest you a rough workaround- you can add history changes of your issues as the first comment to each issue.

Thank you.

Thanks Andrey

It would be useful to see the history in the CFD, but that's ok, I'll do this for now. Once I've been using YouTrack for a couple of weeks there should be enough history for the CFD to be useful.

Thanks,
Mike

Any updates on this? The JT issue tracker seems to indicate that there is some new development going on (I’m guessing that subsystem: {Deprecated REST API} and component: {Old REST API} both refer to the API described in the publicly accessible documentation and that component: {REST API} refers to a new API that is going to replace that one). Is there any way for non-Jetbrains employees to see documentation for the new API?

Hello Lars! Actually, we're not working on this feature at the moment and we do not plan to implement this in the nearest future. I've created a feature request in our tracker, please feel free to vote/comment on it to increase its priority and be notified of the updates: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-44862
