Agile board: moving task to backlog Follow
Hello.
When I trying to move task from Agile board to backlog (it's necessary because new task from the board creating on the board instead backlog). After that field "Status" resetting, but "Sprint number" stores the value. And new task is not visible on backlog - I need to find it and reset the field "Sprint number".
How can do it automatically? I just want to be able to create a task in the backlog from the Agile Board page.

Hello Yanis,
thank you for the question. Please check the settings of your custom field 'Fix versions'. When you move a card from a board to the backlog, its Fix version changes to the value marked as Empty value in the settings.
If the moved card doesn't satisfy the search query of your backlog, then it doesn't get to the backlog.
New tasks create on Agile board with predifined Fix version, which is expected. Did you try to drag issue to the backlog?
Thank you.
I deleted "Fix version" field. Restoring the field does not solve the issue.
After dragging a task is lost from the board and from the backlog. When I see a saved search results (by clicking the link in backlog) I founding It. Search results are different - in the backlog I see only tasks without "Sprint number" field.
When I move a task to a Backlog, instead of clearing the "Fix version" field, YT creates a new sprint "Unscheduled" and assigns it as the fix version. Since my Backlog is defined as "not epic, opened tasks not assigned to any sprint", the issue disappears. Is this the intended behavior? Should I define my backlog differently?
The problems occur when the field used for Sprints allows empty values. If not, then everything works OK.
Just try opening my public Agile Board I prepared specially for this case. https://inego.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/agiles/84-3/85-11
Hello Yanis, sorry for the delay.
When you link your sprints to a custom field, then when you remove a card to the backlog it means you're assigning this card another value of this field version. If your field allows empty values, then this card is assigned Empty Value. If not, then the card is assigned Default Value. Anyway, since your board is linked to a field, any value means your card gets to some sprint.

As for your backlog, as I wrote before, when you move a card to a backlog, it doesn't mean it will be shown in this backlog panel because it doesn't mean this card will satisfy your backlog query.
So this all is as designed. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
