java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

Dear All.

Could someone help us with attached errors?

I've tried to figure out by myself and to fix it, but I'm not so advanced to understand the meaning of the below found in documentation:

"We recommend to start YouTrack with at least 512M of heap memory available. For best performance, set the following JVM options:
  • server -Xss2m -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=10000 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC"
or
"GC overhead limit exceeded    Increase heap size via -Xmx parameter.    -Xmx512m sets heap space to 512mb."

Where to specify this? As usual, if the documentation exists regarding the above, this can't be found.

PS: Java is installed with youtrack and is not apart, as exe installation downloaded from "JetBrains" site.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Sergiu

Hello Sergiu,

Please, refer to instructions.
To change heap memory dedicated to the JVM, change the "Maximum memory pool" setting.

Let me know if need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Hello Andrey.

I've followed the instruction but was not able to increase it to 2GB :|, the service didn't start.

After changing it to 1024MB, the service started successfully.

Do you know something about this issue?

Sergiu

Hi Sergiu,

Looks like you have 32bit JRE version. The version is restricted to 1024MB.
For more extention 64bit JRE is required.
Indeed, 1024MB is enough.

Thank you.
