Need to re-index UpSource from Subversion

We are still a Subversion shop and as such we use UpSource to work with issues related to subversion. Yes, I know that it is discontinued but this is how things are right now.

My problem is that I need to re-read the checkin comments in subversion to sort out corrections to the mapping between issues and commits. The developers have made changes to the comments after they were committed and this is not something UpSource can detect and what I want to do is to get these changes into UpSource and YouTrack so the mapping between issues and commits is up to date.

My thought is that, as there is no function for this in UpSource, perhaps the easiest way is to remove the UpSource connection to my subversion repository and then add it again. This leads me to my questions:

  • Will this solve my issue?
  • Are there any risks involved in this remove-and-add strategy?
  • Is there another, more preferable, way that I could use instead?
