issue list customization
Is there any way to include a custom field icon (e.g. for the issue type field) in the 1st line of all views? This would be extremely useful.
A general mechanism, like for detailed view, should be available to customize the single line view.

Hello Jack, at the moment Priority icon is shown in the one-line view: http://prntscr.com/gio93k However, it's not possible to change this field, so please feel free to file a feature request into our tracker: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/JT
I wonder whether you filed a ticket for this request. I'm looking for the same feature, to use something different instead of Priority icon on issue list.
Priority field gets less importance with boards, where manual order is set on board columns,. It would be more useful to display Issue type for example.

On agile board, you can select which field color will be displayed on the card: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/standalone/Configure-Agile-Board.html#Configure-Cards. You can find the corresponding setting on the Board settings -> Card tab, Color scheme dropdown.

For anyone interested in using their own field as an issue icon (in place of the default priority field), I just published a user script over at Greasy Fork that will achieve what you are looking for!
Small footprint, dynamically updates the icons, it also supports multiple accounts which themselves can use different fields as icons.
