How can I debug "Cannot set value to custom field" type of issues?

Basically I am trying to change a state field to a different value but I am stopped by Youtrack saying “Cannot set value to custom field Estimation”. Even though I am not touching Estimation. I would like to know what is trying to change the Estimation and why? Is there any way to debug this or read a log somewhere saying which workflow is running into an issue like when there is an exception?

Hi!

If you use YouTrack Server, then you can check the `workflow.log` in the logs folder. If you use YouTrack Cloud, then please feel free to submit a request for us.

Thank you for the advice, from the youtrack-stdout.log I discovered the issue is a jetbrains.youtrack.core.l10n.LocalizedLogicException

but it didn't give me any indication what seems to be causing it. This is an excerpt from the log when the issue happens: https://pastebin.com/ZQFzvFsZ.

Second interesting thing is that a restart of the Youtrack service fixes this issue temporarily but restarting youtrack daily is not a solution. Could you look at it and maybe give me some advice about what to do next? We have a 50 user license. Thanks.

Could you please create a request for our support and send us the whole logs folder? Other logs should provide us with more information about the root cause of this issue.

I've created a request as suggested and attached the log folder here: https://youtrack-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/requests/5763097
