Disable certain types of notifications

Hi,

Is it possible to disable certain types of notifications, per user.

For example, we have a custom field defined, where a business side assignees are set. Developers receive all the notifications about changes in that field, while this information brings no added value for them.

I think that the simplest solution would be to have the ability to disable notifications for all changes on a given field, per user or users group. Is that possible?

best,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Each user can configure notifications in his "Profile" (drop-down menu, top right corner). Navigate to "Filters and Notifications" tab, choose particular "Saved search" and disable notifications.

Also, "root" user can implement this by himself, for all developers.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply, but I think that you misunderstood me.

I know, that I can disable notifications of certain events for certain saved searches. But this is not enough for the disable notifications for all changes on a given field requirement.

Example: I want to get notifications, when the State field is changed, but not when the Priority is changed.

In our business case, we want to disable notifications for all changes on a given field, per user or users group.

Agreed.  Or better have notifications to changes be batched.  ie, send one notification when an issue is commented, state changed, or any other attribute changed.  When they changes are all near the same time.  Otherwise you get multiple emails.

@Nick - this would be a minor help. Imagine a set of fields, that are important only for the Business, not developers. These fields are used for the internal tracking purposes of the Business. Developers do not need and should not receive any notifications about any changes in these fields. Such notifications overflow their inbox and, what is the most important thing, important changes notifications get lost like needles in the haystack.

Example from last week: one very slow day, 200+ email notifications received, out of which 3 carried important information from the dev point of view. The result is that no one reviews email notifications anymore.
