Has anyone made YouTrack's jabber feature work with Google Apps accounts?
Hello,
Has anyone been able to configure a hosted YouTrack instance with the correct jabber settings to be able to message Google Apps users? I've tried just putting in the domain name like "paul@example.com" instead of "paul@gmail.com" but that obviously won't work as the jabber server isn't on example.com but talk.google.com.
Help?
Thanks!
Paul

What jabber server and what port do you want to use?
Please note that in the next YouTrack InCloud release (4.2) our own jabber server will be used and there will be no necessity to configure it.
The way Google Apps' jabber service works is to piggyback off the Google Talk one but using different log in credentials. From http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en-uk&hlrm=en&answer=48758 :
Connect Server: talk.google.com
Port: 5222
Security: Use TLS encryption (if possible)
BUT the userid I would use is "paul@example.com", not "something@gmail.com"
Can you see the problem here?
Paul
Unfortunately, it's impossible for now.
As I've said, since InCloud 4.2 release only our own jabber server will be used. However, you are welcome to create a task for YouTrack Stand-alone version, vote and leave comments.
