Toooo many messages

Hello,

we use Youtrack now for two weeks and I am flooded by messages, even, when I am not involved at all ;)

How can I configure my youtrack, that I will be informed, only when…

…I am directly involved as owner of the ticket
…I will be dicertly contacted via @

Thanks a lot

Hi Marco. This can be set up on the Notifications tab in your user profile:

The most common use case is when you are subscribed to issues via the Star tag. You can star issues directly, but there are also cases when issues are automatically starred. E.g., you might have the default setting of starring issues when you comment them, which may subscribe you to unnecessary notifications later. This can be changed with the “Star automatically when” setting. Or perhaps you are not interested in the specific update events in starred issues. In that case, you may adjust which events should produce notifications, as shown on the screenshot above.

For more general information about subscriptions and notifications, feel free to refer to Subscriptions; Use Cases for Subscriptions.

Hello Stanislav,
do the two upper Tags correspond with the lower?

So when I check at the "starred" “issue and article comments”, will I then also get notifications, only if the top checks apply?

The screenshot above implies the following:

  • Notifications about mentions should go through regardless of whether the issue was starred.
  • If you are made an assignee in the issue, this issue will be marked with a star.
  • For starred issues, you'll get notifications about the events listed in the Subscriptions section for the Star tag (Issue or article creation, Issue and article updates etc.).

So when I check at the "starred" “issue and article comments”, will I then also get notifications, only if the top checks apply?

You will get notifications about comments in starred issues and articles if this option is selected. The issue/article needs to marked by a star, and that can happen automatically with the Star automatically when setting or by adding a star manually. Hope this explains it.
