Custom field with unique value

I havent seen an option to make a field value be unique.

When a team member tries to open a new ticket with an already existing value in a certain string field, i want that the ticket cant be saved. Or at least an error message to appear. 

I wanted to ask if there is an existing option or workflow to ensure this feature before i start messing around with coded workflows.
