I CAN'T SUBMIT A BUG TO YOUTRACK BECAUSE YOUTRACK IS BROKEN (Linux, Windows, FIrefox, DDG, buh ROKEN!)

I fill out a bug report for Goland on Youtrack and the “Create” button is grayed out, making it impossible to submit my properly formatted bug report with metadata and all elements chosen and even attachments. This is truly horrible - I've been using Jetbrains products for a very long time and this is the first time I can say I'm profoundly disapointed. The bug I'm reporting is also pretty lame - it's finding unresolved references that are simply and easily resolved. Code compiles and runs, the IDE is just plain wrong - AND the bug reporting system is broken.

Note the grayed out CREATE button in the pictures.

1) Linux Firefox Browser, grayed out CREATE

Windows 10 DDG Browser, Grayed out CREATE

The Bug that I'm trying to report - unresolved reference indicated where there is none (obvious by inspection) and code compiles and runs correctly. Broken IDE, clearly.

I just tried enriching the bug report further with logs and diagnostics uploaded in a zip file - no change. Also tried filling out more of the issue report per dumb extra questions - no change. Also checked my license status, I have an all products pack active license that includes Goland, so there's just no excuse for this.

I just tried Chrome browser on Windows 10, it brought up the same view of the pending issue from my account reference - same problem. “CREATE” button is grayed out. Get better people!

Hello,

I'm Lena from the YouTrack team.

I'm sorry to hear that the UI of YouTrack was not intuitive for you. However, I wish to let you know that you didn't face a bug. You mentioned that our system indicates that you don't have Summary. I reviewed your screenshot and have to summarize that it's true. Please check out the following screenshot, I highlighted the Summary field with a pink arrow:

If you fill it out, the system will let you submit the bug report. Anyway, I have passed the bug you described to our IDE team. They will contact you if they have additional questions.

Got it - thanks for answering this - obviously I don’t find this intuitive.

My opinion: you should fix this - when I’m reporting a bug I want to interact with as few dialogs as possible. In this interface there are too many visual fields competing for attention and for me that top one just disappears. If it is a critical field, then make the flow start there, and at least make it central to your vision, instead of top and left. Alternatively, after running the validator, highlight the missing fields.

Even better, populate the field with an AI summary.

Thanks!
