Project level custom fields and financial tracking

We are currently thinking about deeply evaluating YouTrack. Tons of useful feature for our daily use cases there. 40 people company with devs, lead devs, PMs ,POs, etc.

But before jumping into it, I'd like to get some feedback from you guys, as I cannot find any relevant information about how it is possible with YouTrack to manage hig-level project data in a PPM perspective. In a few words, it is pretty important to us, to be able to monitor projects “financials” and “meta” (is it a build, run, tech stack, who leads, who is the customer, etc.), so that we can get some large grain financial analysis on how production behaves.

As it is not possible to create project-level custom fields, do any of you had such requirements and how did you implement those ? I did see that some might use project description and markup to store / retrieve such kind of data; maybe some of you did explore integration with 3rd parties solutions and integrate through API ?

Any experience / feedback would be great to assess feasability so that we can consider building a YouTrack PoC if such requirement does not lead to a dead end.
