Pasting text with images from Google Docs (and other sources) no longer works – images are lost

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open the issue editor (creating a new issue or editing an existing one)
  2. Copy text that contains images (for example, from Google Docs, Notion, Word, etc.)
  3. Paste it into the issue body

What is the expected result?

Both text and images are pasted correctly (images are automatically uploaded and displayed).

What happens instead?

Images are not uploaded. Only a gray question mark (?) is shown instead of each image.

------------

This functionality worked perfectly until approximately 3 months ago and then suddenly stopped. This is extremely inconvenient and significantly slows down our daily workflow.

We regularly copy-paste long technical documentation with screenshots. Now, instead of one simple paste, we are forced to: manually save every single image as a file, drag-and-drop or upload each one separately, replace the broken image placeholders one by one.

This adds many extra minutes to every issue or comment and is very frustrating for the entire team. Please either restore the previous behavior.

Thank you!

Which browser are you using? A change in the browser itself could be involved. Tried any others? We recently had an issue with Firefox and our old help desk system where it screwed up text typed into a textarea, of all things. One usually wouldn't consider such things as breakable in this day and age, but it happens.
