YouTrack returns 500 error when working with issues since 15:00 GMT+5 (Almaty)

Colleagues, we are facing a critical issue in YouTrack.

The problem started around 15:00 GMT+5 (Almaty) and has been ongoing since 17.02.2026.

What is happening:

  • any changes in issues result in a 500 error
    • comments
    • fields
    • description
    • issue title
  • невозможно создавать новые задачи
  • it is also impossible to change statuses and log spent time

At the same time:

  • the Knowledge Base can be edited without any issues

So the issue tracker itself is broken, while the rest of the system is working.

Support has not responded yet.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem or knows what might be causing it?

Hi! Sorry for the delay, we've now shared our response in the support tickets. For anyone else facing the 500 error during issue updates, see the below.

There is currently a temporary problem in YouTrack Cloud where the 500 error is returned instead of a proper response containing information about the problematic workflow causing it. We are working to resolve this internally. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Please check the Workflows page in your the project settings of projects where you see this issue. Try disabling any custom workflows you have in these projects and see if that resolves the problem. Please reach out to us if you need additional help.
