Please give us our data back

Briefly about the situation: we are Eazy-NDFL, a small startup from Russia that had been using the free cloud version of YouTrack since 2020, and we were extremely happy with it.

After the well-known events, we continued using your solution because migrating years of accumulated data and established workflows is not something that can be done quickly, especially with very limited human resources. We are still developing our project in our spare time outside of our main jobs. In addition, JetBrains’ geography-based restrictions were not introduced immediately, so we continued using the service via VPN for some time.

Last year, we finally completed the migration of our cloud infrastructure and planned to start moving our YouTrack board this year. Unfortunately, we did not make it in time — our account was fully blocked by JetBrains.

When we tried to appeal to human understanding, we received only dry templated responses such as:

Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide our products and/or services in the geographical territory in which you're located.

This is due to legal, contractual and other business-related reasons that JetBrains needs to comply with.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

On the one hand, we completely understand your company’s position — your reputation and obligations to Western partners are naturally far more important than some small startup to whom you owe nothing. But we still hope to be heard and met halfway.

All we are asking for is some time to export our data, or alternatively a ready-made backup that we could restore on our local YouTrack server. These data are the result of many years of careful work; they are extremely valuable to us and to our business.

Please help us find someone within your company who might be able to resolve this issue.

I truly hope for your understanding.

PS: I am ready to come to territory that is not under sanctions (if it is the main problem), for to Yerevan, to get our data back. If needed I can even come tou your office to get it personally.
