Due Date usage to indicate "hot" issues


Have you got example of script or maybe there is already such functionality.

I want to put automatically issues which are close to "Due Date" expire or already expired at the top + change it's priority to be displayed on the top.

The best similary to Trac, where whole background highlight color is changed and it's clearly visible that's high priority (that's cosmetic question)

Is that possible to change backgroud color of issue summary on the list?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the background color of the issue. 

However, you can create several values for some custom field, each of them will have a corresponding color and you will set these value depending on how close to Due Date the issue is. 

This can be done automatically via workflows, here is the example: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/standalone/Workflow-Due-Date.html#notify-assignee.

Also, you'll be able to sort issues by this field.
