Customer facing form for reporting bugs

Hi,

We are looking into Bug Tracking systems alternatives and we came across YouTrack. Can I ask one question with regards to a product feature we are looking for?

 

Bug is filled in a form by the end user. Does YouTrack support this? And how? Can we have, for example, a YouTrack widget embedded in our Web Site? If not, what are the alternatives?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out! I'm afraid it is not possible yet to create tickets via the form. However, it is possible to create them via emails (please refer to https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/standalone/Use-YouTrack-as-a-Help-Desk.html). Besides that, we are currently working on improving the helpdesk experience - this will include creating tickets using a form or embedded widget and simplified UI for end-users where they will be able to see a list of their tickets.

Thank you. Meanwhile, I have also found this which gives a direction on how one can use YouTrack REST API to build a custom form.

Nevertheless, we are looking forward to the improvements of the helpdesk experience you are currently working on.

Sure, building an integration using REST API will definitely work too. However, I'd recommend using our new REST API, please refer to https://www.jetbrains.com/help/youtrack/standalone/youtrack-rest-api-reference.html
