Unable to add Youtrack resource to existing Hub Project

Hi all,

making some testing on the jetbrain development integrated solutions, I'm trying to setup HUB with Youtrack and Teamcenter.

After integration was completed, I started by creating a new project in Hub, but when I try to connect with youtrack ( Hub -> Projects -> Resources -> Move Resource here ), I have no youtrack resource option to add.

I see 2 other youtrack projects to add as resource here, but what I'm looking for is to create a new project in Youtrack and then add the resource in HUB.

Does anyone know how to proceed ?

Thank you.

Hi!

I'm Sergey from the Youtrack team.

If got your right, you should create a resource in a service as described here: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/hub/Add-Services-to-a-Project.html Select Issue Tracker in the drop-down list. Basically, it will make Youtrack use this Hub project.

P.S. if you'd like to get in touch with our support team directly for a quick answer to your question, please fill in a direct request at https://youtrack-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/requests/ We'll be happy to help.

Hi Sergey,

you're absolutly right, sorry for the basic question.

Thank you for your help.

Nevetheless may I leave a suggestion, while looking the YouTube found several videos and tutorial of products and release, but little update on the flow of the initial basic usage of some of the base tools for standalone.

While cloud is a growing market, may I remember huge companies with Data privacy concerns and restrictions continue to use standalone, so refresh videos and tutorial could help invite more business also in that area :)

Food for thought...

Again thank you for the help.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with you that the process is not particularly straightforward and can be improved or covered in terms of tutorials better. So it's understandable that you couldn't find it at first.

Mostly, the reason here is that creating a project via Hub and then adding resources to the Youtrack service is a rather case. You can just create a project via Youtrack directly, and it will create a project in Hub automatically. Though you will still need to create resources in the service if you plan to use this project for multiple services.

Either way, if you get stuck with anything or any questions appear, please don't hesitate to contact us, we'll be happy to help.
