Experience with Youtrack in context of IEC 61508

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has experience using YouTrack in the context of safety-related development (in accordance with IEC 61508)? It would certainly be helpful to exchange ideas

Hi Daniel,

I'm Sergey from the YouTrack Team. Thanks for reaching out!

YouTrack is not certified for IEC 61508, and we do not provide a dedicated IEC 61508 compliance package. Whether it is suitable for a particular safety-related development process depends on your own required evidence, controls, and tool-qualification obligations.

From the product perspective, YouTrack provides configurable building blocks that teams can use to build their process:

  • Custom Fields to record requirements, risks, and other process data.
  • Workflow Rule Types to enforce transitions and approval gates.
  • Show Version History for tracked changes to issues. Administrative changes are also recorded in Audit Events.
  • Issue links and hierarchies to model relationships between requirements, implementation work, tests, and risks.

YouTrack does not include a built-in traceability-matrix view. The free Advanced Linked Issues & Traceability app adds linked-issue views and traceability reporting.

As this is a public forum, other community members may be able to share hands-on experience using YouTrack in safety-related development.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
