Board backlog

Hi,

I want to be sure I am not getting it wrong.

Is the backlog for an agile board mandatorily a saved search?

We have a « project » backlog with all our issues. I want a subset of these issues. The only way to have this subset is a query with filter. I cannot manually construct the backlog adding each issue by hand to the agile board backlog. One way to filter is, for instance, to set a specific tag to each issue wanted in the agile board backlog.

So I tag each of the issues wanted in the backlog for the agile board and I'm done with the definition of this subproject backlog.

If I repeat this for a bunch of projects, I can follow them one by one. But each agile board has its sprint definition, so how could I get a burndown chart for the agregate of all these sub-sprints to see the global trend for all subprojects ? Am I supposed to have a « global » board on which we add (again) our issues ?

I feel like I am not correctly using the tool.

Hi!

I'm Sergey from the YouTrack team. Thank you for the post.

Yes, it is. I suggest taking a look at our doc Working with a Backlog to learn more about how it works.

so how could I get a burndown chart for the agregate of all these sub-sprints to see the global trend for all subprojects ?

You can also build a burndown chart in the Reports section. There you will be able to specify an issue filter manually so it won't be limited to a specific sprint.

Hope this helps!
