Wider box for custom field display

The box on the right hand side of the ticket view, that shows the custom field information, is very narrow. Especially on wide screens there's a lot of unused space right of this box. Why can't this box be wider so that the information is not cut off? Currently you have to use a horizontal scroll bar to show the complete information, which isn't very comfortable.

I'm Sergey from the YouTrack team.

There's no way to change the size custom fields' sidebar manually, I'm afraid. What I suggest you do is try a different interface to see if it works better for you. As of now, we have two interfaces that you can choose from. Each changes the issue view, including the sidebar, rather significantly.

Hi Sergey,

Thanks for your quick response. Currently I’m on the standard UI. I’d like to switch to the lite UI, however in the ticket view of our productive version I can’t select any of our individual fields in the settings. I only see the ticket summary, and this is too few information. In our test version this is possible, but I can’t see any difference between those two, so I can’t say, why I can’t select any of the individual fields.

Do you have any idea how I can display more information than only the ticket summary?

As a small follow-up for those who might have a similar issue — the last question is related to filters not populating field data and was discussed in a direct support ticket. In such a case, the first thing to do is to make sure that your YouTrack is up-to-date so that it includes all the related fixes.
