State-machine Rules per Issue Type multiple levels

Hi is it possible that state-machine per issue Type can work on only for this secondary field but on a third lvl also?

If i use the state-machine for State and Types it is clear as explained. How can i use it for if i want to have per Subsystem different state machine? A "wrapper" rule should be used? another state machine could call the previous state machine ?

Is it maybe something to be in plan for the future?

Hi!

I'm Sergey from the YouTrack team.

No, unfortunately, you can't use multiple state machines for the same fields or create a 3+ level state machine rule. We don't have plans to adjust the state machine functionality at the moment. The closest thing we may implement in the future is the following: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-24315/Dependencies-between-fields. The main drawback here is that such functionality poses a significant UI and UX challenge. It can bring more confusion than help, given the overall complexity of the feature.

This feature is not exactly the same, but if interested, free to vote for this issue. This helps us gauge how much impact this feature will have on our customer base, and you’ll also get subscribed to the issue’s notifications. To do so, sign in to JetBrains YouTrack and hit a thumbs-up icon.

for State and Types

Just a small remark here — those should not be specifically State and Type fields, any enumerated fields will do.
