YouTrack APP on android "Network request failed"
Hello,
In our team we're using youtrack, everything works great, except: YouTrack app for Android. In the iOS environment, I enter the address of my server, I log in and it is. If I enter the same address on an Android app, it will show "Network request failed". What do we do wrong? :) From web browser is everything fine.

Hello! Are you using an InCloud or a standalone YouTrack? If it's an InCloud instance, how do you write the address? Please attach a screenshot with the error.
Thanks!
Hi,
i am using standalone YouTrack (we). Here is the screenshot with the error, but i am afraid - i said all about him :)))
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9Ye13MgqxlUOEc2Wklva2hYd2s/view (can i put the pic right here?)
From the screenshot you can see the adress youtrack.nuvia.cz ... i tried https://, www, and all other combination... nothing :-(
Thanks for reaction ^_^
Hello! As far as we can tell, there is a problem with the certificate of your instance. Please check these links:
https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/geotrust-ssl-certificate-for-android-devices/25965
https://support.servertastic.com/knowledgebase/article/rapidssl-and-geotrust-certificate-not-trusted-on-mobile-device
Let us know if we can help you any further. Thanks!
I'm having this same problem. It's not a certificate issue -- the URL loads fine in a browser on the same device (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) and shows the page as secure with a valid certificate chain. Qualys' SSL Labs shows A+ results on the URL and SSL config. Same URL works fine from Windows/Mac browsers as well as the IOS YouTrack app.
I'm actually having this problem on two different YouTrack installations at different client sites. Android app doesn't connect ("network request failed"), but works fine from IOS app and from browsers.
Hello Chris, I'm sorry for the delay. A build with the fix is already released (build 454), please update your app and try again.
Let me know the results. Thanks!
Hi Liubov, I can see in the support ticket I opened (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/YTM-437) that the fix is done, but Google Play only shows the 2017.3 version, which is still broken.

Hi Liubov, I saw the updated version on Google Play today, but unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. Same error still persists.
-Chris
Chris, thanks for all your input! We're investigating the issue further.
Hi folks,
it is October now and the problem still persists :-(
Our YouTrack server is located behind a Sophos UTM 9.x web application firewall. From a technical point of view Sophos UTM consists of Apache Httpd 2.x as reverse proxy + mod_security.
NO, mod_security does not block any requests.
YES, this solutions works fine with all common browsers.
Pleeeease fix the app, at the moment it is useless.
- Stefan
Stefan, could you please try to capture network traffic using, for example, this “Packet Capture” app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.greyshirts.sslcapture
Please send us the results to youtrack-feedback@jetbrains.com
Thank you!
Sure, will do!
Stefan, as a stop-gap workaround, if you follow the link in my earlier comment in this thread to the open YouTrack support ticket on this bug, there is a link in the comments where Jetbrains provided a download for the previous version of the Android app, which still works.
-Chris
Any news on this?
I'm using youtrack standalone with a valid wildcard cert from let's encrypt.
Just downloaded the app (2018.4) from the play store and got this issue.
Anything I can do?
Today the issue persists.
Any update about this? I just installed the you track app on my android this morning.
Hello all,
Please create a support request (https://youtrack-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=66282) and specify some more details: which app version do you have, which error do you see, what data do you fill in.
Thank you.
Hello,
We have the same issue. My colleges with Android phones get "Network request failed". IOS application works perfect on my phone, but for Android users this issue persists.
YouTrack Server 2022.2.60480
Android 11+
YouTrack for Android is latests (I can see it was updated today), but we had this issue 10 days ago as well
Certificate is not self-signed
Standart port 443
YouTrack Server is reachable from Win/Mac/IOS and Android browsers. So it's accessible over the internet. IOS application works as expected.
Hi!
I'm Sergey from the YouTrack team.
Firstly, I should note that this is a generic network error that may have many different reasons, usually related to the YouTrack server infrastructure. So it's quite unlike that you have the same issue as the OP had 5 years ago.
As the next step, please share a link to your YouTrack so that we'll run basic checks and get back to you with further details.
