Is it possible to close a project without deleting it
I would like to mark a project as closed, so that when entering a new issue it would not be available, but I don't want to delete the project. I've only just started evaluating YouTrack, so I'm not sure if I've overlooked this feature. If it is not available now, is there a plan for it?

Kevin,
Remove access rights for project.
If you use default groups and roles, then go to groups admin, select All Users groups and unassign roles for project.
I want to follow up the request.
For me removing access rights is not the right approach because I want to grant read only access to "closed" projects as they contain a lot of valuable information to our teams. Well "read-only" can be achieved by changing user roles.
But on the same time I want to be able to filter "closed" projects.
Currently I just rename projects with a prefix "[closed] Project XYZ" and assign a "closed" icon to it for easier recognition.
Anyway, it would be great if in some future release you could implement the "close project" function an a simple filter option in the project list.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. It is possible now to archive a project to mark it as closed. When archived, a project is not available for creating issues there and for adding it to reports or boards. However, you will be able to unarchive it anytime.
