Disable Knowledge Base comments for reporters in Open Helpdesk projects

 

Hi,

I’m using an Open Helpdesk project with a Knowledge Base (KB) for reporters. I want the KB to be read-onlyfor them, but reporters can still comment on articles, even with the “Create Article Comment” permission disabled.

This makes it impossible to keep documentation clean, as all feedback should go through tickets, not article comments.

Is this by design, or is there a way to prevent reporters from commenting on KB articles in Helpdesk projects?

Unfortunately, there's currently no way to prevent reporters from commenting on Knowledge Base articles in Helpdesk projects. Reporter users have a fixed set of permissions that can't be customized, so you can't assign them roles or add them to groups to adjust their access.

We have a related feature request for this capability: Add ability to restrict the reporters' permissions. Please feel free to vote for this issue.
