Cannot change base URL from Settings

I'm trying to change base URL for our cloud instance via

Global settings -> Server configuration -> Domain settings -> Base URL

But when I save I get this error message:

"Cannot update settings. Cannot change subdomains on default domain"

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
