Users are getting "Can't connect to dashboard backend" when opening their dashboards

… but everything seems to be working correctly. How can I find out what the problem is or hide this message?

This is not a random occurence but happens regularly.

Hi!

I'm Sergey from the YouTrack team.

To investigate it, please share the following details:

  • a screenshot of the browser's console when reproducing the error
  • a HAR file recorded when the error occurs
  • do you use YouTrack Server or YouTrack Cloud? If the former — send the logs and version. If the latter — your instance name or URL

You can upload data to https://uploads.youtrack.cloud and share the upload ID. We'll examine these details and get back to you with further details.

Note that this is a public forum. You can create a private support ticket at https://youtrack-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/requests/new if you prefer.

Hello,

I've replied in your support ticket and am copying it here as well.

It appears that you've faced the following bug: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JT-63586/Issue-activity-feed-widget-is-causing-Cant-connect-to-dashboard-backend-error. When there's an issue activity widget added to a shared dashboard, such a message pops up if the dashboard is not editable. Please feel free to vote for this issue. This helps us measure how many customers encounter this problem, and you’ll also get subscribed to the issue’s notifications. To do so, sign in to JetBrains YouTrack and hit the thumbs-up icon.

As a workaround, the dashboard owner can enable the 'Allow to edit dashboard' option. Then this warning will stop appearing. See the attached screenshot.
